To really learn about shape ups you need to buy a pair and wear them regularly for a few days. Otherwise, you’ll never figure out if they will work for you or not. You need a few days to allow your muscles to adjust and condition to the shoes design. Skechers brand shape ups seem to offer the most padding which many people prefer.
Some of the benefits from shape ups include:
Improved blood circulation, basically since it moves more muscles more blood flows.
Imporved posture, the idea is that there is less stress on your joints and less pain creates better posture.
Low Impact just means the rounded sole creates a smooth glide of your foot, ergonomic sole and added cushioning creates a softer impact.
Some of the drawbacks of the Skechers brand include:
Heavier than some because of materials used.
Although, many have given feedback that they have great success with Shape ups for 3 years or more.

One Piano Man Dude says: I was browsing in a shoe store, and expressed interest in trying Sketcher ShapeUps. After trying on many pairs, I asked if they came in wider sizes. (These were all normal widths, and were too narrow for my wide foot.) The sales girl disappeared into the back for several minutes and finally came back and informed me that she couldn’t find any, and didn’t think any of these shoes were made in wider widths. When I got home I checked on Amazon, and of course there were wider sizes available. So I bought a ’3E’ width, and they fit GREAT. The shoes do take a little getting used to (they’re not flat and your feet tend to rock), but after about a week or so I like them very much, and would recommend them. Before rating them with a fifth star, I want to wear them for another week or two, but I expect that fifth star to be forthcoming!

shape up shoes overhaul at Zappos
Talked to a Zappos girl on a Tuesday evening around 9pm. My shoes were at my house the next day when I got home at 6pm! Staggering! Amazing! And I love the shoes.

I ordered these shoes for my buddy who had previously owned a pair and needed a new one. He loves them! He won’t wear anything else. They’re a bit spendy, but my friend swears by them. That’s about as much as I know!

I bought these for my husband and he has absolutely loved them from day one! They have helped so much with his back and knee problems, and won’t wear anything else for walks or long standing. I have to buy him a second pair for the garden, so he’ll have a pair he can get dirty! They were very true to size, and he likes the leather because he doesn’t have to worry about them stretching out like the softer materials can do.
